Meet Your Guide
My name is Yalmar Ivar Marchand and I am 45 yrs old and still feeling 25. I was born and raised in the beautiful town of Orange Walk, better known today as Shugah City. This is for all the suger cane that is grown and processed there. I moved to Belize city to go high school and have been there since. I have been a tour guide for only 24 years and still get butterflies before my tours. I am both terrestrial and water guide. I love the history and mystery of my ancestors The Maya. The mystical tours of our different cave systems and the wonders of our rivers are all exciting too. I am a Certified advanced birding guide, certified by The Belize Audubon Society. I am also an advance snorkeling guide. I lead study abroad groups for 10-16 days with interest in biology, reef ecology, culture archaeology and much more. I love dancing, food, drinks, entertaining and nature in general.
Belize is filled with an array of destinations for leisure, history, adventure, culture, food, research, a bit for everyone and Discovery Belize is ready for it. As I always say to my guests, safety is number one, fun and adventure next. I never go to work, I go to have fun with anyone that wants to learn. Let's do this.
